Why
The United States is too car-dependent. No one should have to own a personal vehicle in order to make it to work, attend school, or even leave their home.
Cars don't scale. We've tried adding "one more lane" to highways for decades, but traffic still persists, and it's only getting worse.
Electric personal vehicles will not solve our problems, we need to rethink how we get around without relying on cars.
How
Transit Hunter was created to help others learn about alternate transportation options that already exist in their city, as well as how to engage with local entities to advocate for better transportation infrastructure. An LA-based brand, Transit Hunter aims to introduce new audiences to the wonders of new urbanism through accessible, light-weight content.
Transit Hunter fills the need for cute apparel focused on trains, buses, bikes, and other urbanist themes. It's a celebration of transportation alternatives through the eyes of different designers, in their own styles and flavors. Design with us!
Where do the Profits go?
- Nonprofits & Organizations: once the cost of goods has been filled, the majority of funds will go to groups focused on transportation justice, advocacy, or education.
- Designers: a portion of the profits goes toward our designers.
- Maintenance: what's left is for website & business maintenance to keep Transit Hunter running.
